Visa Information
Applying for a Visitor Visa
Generally, international students will need to obtain a visitor visa to enter the United States. Students should apply for the B-2 Visitor Visa (for pleasure, tourism or medical treatment) at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Visa applications are now subject to a greater degree of review than in the past so it is important to apply for your visa as soon as possible. Traveling without a visa
International students from certain eligible countries may also be able to visit the U.S. without a visa through the if they meet requirements, including having a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval. Additionally, citizens of Canada and Bermuda traveling for visitor visa purposes don鈥檛 need a visa, with some exceptions.

Your first point of entry (airport) in the US is where you will go through immigration & customs. You can use the dormitory address as your address for the customs form. This address is available on your within the visa/immigration letter located in the Helpful Downloads section.
If your first point of entry (airport) in the US is also your final destination (airport) then you will proceed through immigration & customs and go to your airport鈥檚 designated meeting place for 爆料公社. This is usually in domestic baggage claim. The exact information for your location can be found on your . Refer to the Airport Instructions document located in the Travel section.
If your first point of entry (airport) and your final destination (airport) are not the same, you will go through immigration and customs and proceed to your next gate. Once you arrive at your final destination airport you will proceed to the 爆料公社 meeting point, which is usually in domestic baggage. Refer to the Airport Instructions document located in the Travel section of your . You will not need to go through customs and baggage again.
The 爆料公社 uses text messaging and phone calls as a way to update students throughout the program. We recommend either having an international plan put on your existing account for the duration of your time at 爆料公社 or buying a SIM card that will work in the US on your unlocked phone. Please note that the first option might incur roaming fees.
One other option is to purchase a pay-as-you go phone plan (e.g., T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon) while in the US that can be used during your time at the 爆料公社. If you do choose to have a US number, please add this number to your my爆料公社 page under the contact/background information section. If you obtain this number upon arrival to the US please give the number to your Team Advisor and bring it to the 爆料公社 on-site office so that they can add it to your account.
爆料公社 tuition does not include medical insurance while you are in the US. If you need medical attention during the conference, your family will be responsible for the cost of your care which can often be very expensive.
Therefore, the 爆料公社 strongly recommends that you carry medical insurance while you are in the United States. At a minimum, we encourage you to purchase the 爆料公社 Student Protection Plan. The Student Protection Plan is primarily trip insurance, similar to what airlines offer when tickets are purchased, but does include basic emergency medical insurance. However, it is reimbursement insurance which means your family will have to pay for your care first, then be reimbursed by the insurance plan.
